If we lose our past, it will be as if we never existed!

Our Mission: To preserve Pittsville area history
Our Objectives: To display items and information about “the good old days” for the:

  • enjoyment of those who remember
  • wonderment of those whose parents told them about those days
  • education of all generations

The Pittsville Area Historical Society Museum Complex boasts 7 buildings on our grounds, providing visitors an amazing variety of authentic, historically accurate exhibits and displays of our Pittsville area past, plus access to a wonderful and comprehensive archive of original local histories, documents, books and artifacts for study and research. We are proud of our history!

Members of the Pittsville Area Historical Society, museum docents, helpers and other staff are all volunteers. There is no charge to visit the museum or to do research, although donations are always welcome!

Stop by the museum to do research or to learn more about the history of the Pittsville area.
